Swim Families,

I cannot believe that SUMMER SWIM SEASON will be here in just three months!

Head Coach Joe Peeden and Assistants Sam Parker and Alex Peeden are already making plans for another great year, and we hope that you are excited to be a part of it! 

 

REGISTRATION

Registration will be handled exclusively through our website this year. Simply go to our site and log in using the email and password that you used last year. Your swimmers’ information should be in the system. Please be sure to verify that the information is correct. Also, be sure to enter your swimmers’ t-shirt sizes for the team shirt.

Registration fee is $225 per swimmer (same as last year). This includes all practices, meet registration fees and the team t-shirt. All payments should be made by credit card through our secure site.

Register and pay before April 30 to receive a Discount Coupon for $25 toward 2017 MCDC Camp Session Fees (limit one coupon per family).  

If you know of another family that would be a great addition to our team, please forward this email on to them. We always have room for new swimmers and would love to have additional families join our team. 

 

PRACTICE

Practice begins on Tuesday, May 30. As with last year, we will be splitting our practice time between the AJCC pool and the UT Student Aquatic Center.

Our schedule will be as follows: 

Morning Practices (Monday through Friday)

 8:00 - 9:00 a.m.         (Ages 10-Under at AJCC Pool)

9:00 - 10:30 a.m.       (Ages 11-Up at AJCC Pool)

Evening Practices  (Monday and Wednesday)

6:00 - 7:00 p.m.          (Ages 10-Under at AJCC Pool)

7:00 - 8:00 p.m.          (Ages 11-Up at AJCC Pool)

Evening Practices   (Tuesday and Thursday)

7:00 - 8:00 p.m.           (All Ages a UT Student Aquatic Center) 

Remember: A parent or guardian must sign in all swimmers 10-Under at every practice and must remain on deck during practices at UT.

 

Mandatory Parent Meeting

There will be a mandatory parent meeting on Wednesday, May 31 at 7:00 pm at the AJCC Pool. The meeting will include GKAISA Concussion Training, Cardiac Arrest Training and other information that is mandated by GSAISA. We will also review the USC Hazing Policy. We will also cover introductions, general questions, social events, meet schedule, team communication and volunteer opportunities.

 

Parking

Parking Passes for the UT Student Aquatic Center lot will be available on the first day of practice. You may purchase one through the website under the “Products” tab when you register. Cost is $31.00 (which is half-off the summer price and less than the cost of a parking ticket). Passes must be purchased by May 15. If you do not purchase by this date, you may purchase a summer pass at UT Parking Services. 

 

Team Suits

Our team suit has changed. Speedo has discontinued the suit we have used for the past two seasons. This year's suit is the TYR Phoenix Splice. Team suits are available for purchase at Swim and Tri in Bearden. We will also be scheduling a fitting at the AJCC in the next couple of months.

 

Team Towels

Swim and Tri also will have our new team towels, which will be microfiber and quick-dry. (We don’t have the design yet, but it will be coming soon.) They can be purchased on our website under the “Products” tab.

 

Caps

We will be ordering new silicone caps through Swim and Tri. Please note that we use silicone caps because Coach Joe is very allergic to latex. Cost for a single cap will be $10. We also have the option this year to order caps that are personalized with the swimmer’s last name. Minimum order per family is two (2), and the cost for two (2) caps is $25 ($2.50 charge per cap for the personalization).

 

Other Merchandise

We may add additional team merchandise to our “Product” tab if there is enough interest to warrant printing.
