We hope you are having a wonderful 4th of July holiday! We are excited to see you at practice tomorrow!!

Please make every effort to attend our next two home meets. We are in a tight race with our next two opponents for placement in League 5 this year. Both teams are larger than ours, and we need every swimmer we can get in order to score points.

MEET ON TUESDAY, JULY 11 versus FORT SANDERS HEALTH AND FITNESS CENTER STORM

We take on the Fort Sanders Health and Fitness Center Storm next Tuesday night, July 11 at 6:00 p.m. We will warm-up at 5:00. Please have your swimmers there by 4:45.

RSVPs and Volunteer signups are currently open. We will close swimmer RSVPs at noon on Monday, and volunteer signups will close at midnight on Monday.

TEAM TACOS ON MONDAY

Following practice on Monday night, we will go to Casa Don Gallo in Rocky Hill at 8:00 pm. They know to expect us… and we hope to make this a weekly tradition for our team this year. The staff is incredible, and the food is good, too. (Meal prices range from $5.00-$15.00).

CAPS AND TOWELS

Our pre-ordered caps and towels are in and available for pick-up at evening practices or before the FSHFC meet.

If you did not pre-order a cap or towel but would like one, please email Angelia Nystrom at [email protected]. We have a limited number available for purchase. Caps are $10, and towels are $27.50.

 TEAM T-SHIRTS

We have placed the order for the team t-shirt and hope to have them before the FSHFC Meet.

SMOKY MOUNTAIN INVITATIONAL

The Smoky Mountain Invitational Swim Meet will be held on Saturday, July 15 (ages 11-Up)  and Sunday, July 16 (ages 10-Under). Thank you to all who signed up to swim. We will post additional information about tent location, warm-ups and volunteer sign-ups as soon as we receive it.

GKAISA CITY MEET CHAMPIONSHIPS

The GKAISA City Meet will be held July 28-30 at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center at UT. Information on the City Meet will be forthcoming in the next couple of weeks.

GKAISA is our parent swimming association, and it hosts the City Meet Championships each year. The costs to hold the City Meet continue to rise. GKAISA is able to cover those costs through team dues ($50 per team), City Meet entry fees, heat sheet sales and ad sales, and private donations. GKAISA also receives revenue from City Meet t-shirt sales.

If your swimmers intend to participate, I want to encourage you to consider purchasing a City Meet t-shirt. I have attached a mock-up of the front of the shirt. For those of you who are new, GKAISA prints two different shirts for City Meet: one with the names of the 11-Up swimmers (Friday swimmers) on the back, and one with the names of the 10-Under swimmers (Saturday swimmers) on the back.

We will begin taking orders within the next couple of weeks. Shirts will not be available for purchase at the City Meet, so they must be ordered in advance. Cost is $15 per shirt.
