Swim Families, Congratulations, Swimmers, on a great meet at the Smoky Mountain Invitational. We had some fantastic swims, and Gracie Bemiller and Bazil Napier placed came away with some hardware, each placing first in one individual event and having a top 3 in another! We also had a number of Heat Ribbon winners. Congrats, also, to the parents who braved the heat this weekend. Please make every effort to attend our meet on Tuesday evening. If we win the meet, we can win our League, and we need every swimmer we can get in order to score points. Also, Tuesday night will be “Toga Party Night.” Come to the meet dressed in your finest toga and ready to have a great time. MEET ON TUESDAY, JULY 18 versus NATIONAL FITNESS CENTER We take on National Fitness Center next Tuesday night, July 18 at 6:00 p.m. We will warm-up at 5:00. Please have your swimmers there by 4:45. RSVPs and Volunteer signups are currently open. We will close swimmer RSVPs at noon tomorrow, and volunteer signups will close at midnight on tomorrow. CAPS AND TOWELS Our pre-ordered caps and towels are in and available for pick-up at evening practices or before the NFC meet. If you did not pre-order a cap or towel but would like one, please email Angelia Nystrom at [email protected]. We have a limited number available for purchase. Caps are $10, and towels are $27.50. TEAM T-SHIRTS Team t-shirts will be available for pick-up at practice tomorrow. We will offer the remaining ones for sale (beginning tomorrow) to parents on a first-come/first-served basis for $15 each. GKAISA CITY MEET CHAMPIONSHIPS The GKAISA City Meet will be held July 28-30 at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center at UT. RSVPs are currently open. We will close swimmer RSVPs on Tuesday at noon. There will be no late entries so please be sure your swimmers have been signed up if they plan to swim. To register your swimmer, please go to our team’s website or click on the link below.
Parking at the City Meet will be in the Metron Center Garage. Busses will be available to transport you to Allan Jones Aquatic Center and will run continuously throughout the Meet. CITY MEET T-SHIRTS If your swimmers intend to participate in City Meet, I want to encourage you to consider purchasing a City Meet t-shirt. For those of you who are new, GKAISA prints two different shirts for City Meet: one with the names of the 11-Up swimmers (Friday swimmers) on the back, and one with the names of the 10-Under swimmers (Saturday swimmers) on the back. We are taking orders for City Meet t-shirts now. To order your City Meet shirt, go to the Products tab on our website. You will be able to select the shirt for the days that your children are swimming, as well as the sizes. Please pay through the website, as we must pay for the shirts in advance. Shirts will not be available for purchase at the City Meet, so they must be ordered in advance. Cost is $15 per shirt. CITY MEET HEAT SHEET ADS AND POSTERS Promotional Banners: Hang your business banner from the railing on the concession side of the Allan Jones Aquatic Center (under the scoreboard). The cost to hang a banner will be approximately $250 for all three days, depending upon your banner size. Banner requests should be made by July 21 to Kelley Perkins at [email protected]. Anyone who pays to hang a banner will also receive a 1/8 page ad in the City Meet Heat Sheet. Posters: Spaces to hang posters in the concourse of the Allan Jones Aquatic Center will be available for purchase, as well. This is a low-cost opportunity to wish your swimmers well or advertise your business. Costs are as follows: 12” x 18” $25.00 18” x 24” $50.00 24” x 36” $75.00 Posters should be on posterboard or construction paper and submitted to Kelley Perkins for approval by July 21. You will drop the posters off at AJAC on Thursday, July 27. Heat Sheet Ads: Heat Sheet Ads are also available for purchase. Proceeds from Heat Sheet Ad sales go directly to the GKAISA Scholarship Fund, and can be purchased as follows: 1/4 page $85.00 1/3 page $110.00 1/2 page $140.00 Full page $250.00 All Ads and Payments are due by Sunday, July 23. NATIONAL ANTHEM AUDITIONS If your swimmer is a great musician or singer and would like to perform the National Anthem during the City Meet, please respond to this email.
