We look forward to seeing everyone at our penultimate dual meet of the summer! Please read over the attached information about tonight.

THEME: Pirates and Mermaids! 

EVENTS: Please see attachments for your swimmers events.

WHERE: Gulf Park Recreation Association. Located at 528 Pensacola Road, Knoxville, TN 37923

WHEN: Since we are the away team, we will have second warmups. Swimmers should plan to arrive around 5:00pm.

Warmups

10 and unders: 5:15-5:45

11 and olders: 5:30-6:00

Meet will begin at 6:00pm

PARKING: From Gulf Park: Parking and Visiting Team Area: Our Parking lot is usually filled pretty quickly. The visiting team will park in the lower parking lot and on the lower tennis court that is no longer in use. Please utilize this option. Please be sure not to double park, making sure not to block anyone in and only park in the lot, not in grass. If you are unable to park in the parking lot, you are directed to park on only ONE side of Pensacola Road (our parking lot side) and nearby streets. Be careful not to block driveways. Do not park past the tennis courts into the cul-de-sac, this will block our neighbors in. “No Parking” signs will be posted at this point and on the opposite side of our lot along the roadway. (PLEASE OBEY THESE SIGNS to help us enforce fire ordinance.) You may pull into the parking lot briefly to drop off swimmers and supplies. If there are no spaces available, I would suggest parking in the lower parking lot of Cedar Bluff Elementary School. USC will use the “lower parking lot” and Gulf Park will utilize the parking at Cedar Bluff Elementary School and in the neighborhood. Please remind your team to NOT drive into the entrance off of Cedar Bluff Road. Google Maps sends people to this lot. This small upper lot is for our lifeguards and emergency vehicles ONLY. Please let your swim families know that this is NOT an option for parking. If they park in this lot, they will be asked to move their vehicle. 

CONCESSIONS: Several food and beverage items will be available for purchase at the meet. *The Shark Bites Café will be located in the Shark Shack and has hot items such as Hamburgers & Cheeseburgers, Hot Dogs, Bagged Chips, Fruit, Soft Drinks and Bottled Water, Gatorade, Cookies & Brownies. We accept cash, Venmo @gulfparkpool or PayPal to [email protected]. Hotdog Combo is $6, Hamburger Combo is $8. This includes a hotdog or hamburger, 2 sides and a drink.

WHAT TO BRING: Goggles, cap, and towels are always required. We highly encourage families to bring a tent, chairs, snacks, and water to stay cool and healthy during the meet. 

CLERK OF COURSE: All swimmers will be required to have their full name, team, and age on their top right shoulder during this meet. Gulf Park only runs clerk of course for swimmers 10 and under. All 11 and older swimmers will be expected to be behind the blocks before their events. We encourage everyone to write the swimmers events, heats, and lanes on their body visible to the swimmer. We also encourage you to talk to your swimmers about what each thing means. This will be good practice for both SMI and City Meet Clerk.

PRACTICE 7/10: We will be having practice tomorrow morning in addition to Tie-Dye day.
