We are just over one week away from the 51st annual Smoky Mountain Invitational. Please forward the following SMI information to your team's parents.

    • As you enter check the tent map that will be right at the entrance to see where your team is located for the weekend
    • It is going to be hot this year. Spectator swim is a great way to keep cool. The cost is $5 per session or you can get an all day wristband for $20 on Saturday and $15 on Sunday.
    • All workers need to visit the Infomation tent to receive their complimentary spectator swim wrist band.
    • Visit the information tent to purchase heat sheets, spectator swim passes, and then later in the day SMI caps will be available for our heat winners and finalists to buy. SMI will be accepting cash or credit card.
    • This year each team will receive an entry list in the rep packet that has the event/heat/lane for every child. Coaches will also have this list in their materials. Families can get their swimmers' information directly from coaches and team reps.
    • It is going to be a hot weekend so make sure kids (and spectators) stay hydrated and in the shade when possible. Salty snacks and electrolyte beverages can also be a big help in the heat.
    • Parking will be available at Alcoa First Methodist Church on Saturday. The church will be asking for voluntary donations that will help support an upcoming mission trip.
    • Jump judges, relay times, and scribes, who are working the last shift will need to stay through the coaches' and jr. coaches' relays. Ribbon writers will also need to stay until all ribbons have been completed.
    • It has become a tradition for dads to help take down cattle guards and gather the recycling and garbage from tents on Sunday. There is a bit of wait after the end of the meet and the commencement of medal ceremonies. If anyone who is able can pitch in a few minutes to assist in this it all goes rather quickly.
    • Making waves will be onsite doing custom tshirt printing including your own team and and the swimmers competing at Smoky.
    • Breakfast will be available on site. See below for menu and pricing.
