Updates 6/19
Good Afternoon,
We hope everyone had fun pushing their coaches into the pool today! I wanted to share a few updates so everything is in one place before next week.
FOX DEN: We have our second swim meet of the season on MONDAY 6/22 at the Fox Den Pool. RSVPs are due tonight and will not be able to be edited after tomorrow. More specific email will be coming Monday morning/Sunday night if it gets completed in time.
SMI: Smoky Mountain Invitation is a super fun meet hosted by Maryville every season. It is a championship meet for any swimmer who has not competed in a meet for a year-round swim team since last August. Due to its size it is split into two days based on competition group (11 and olders are on Saturday July 11th, 10 and unders are on Sunday, July 12th). We usually have a great showing at the meet and would love that tradition to continue! RSVPs are due next Wednesday, June 24th. For more info please click here for the meet website.
CITY CHAMPIONSHIP MEET: Our final meet of the season, and the meet the whole summer builds up to is the Tom Schuman Memorial GKAISA Championship Meet. We want to have as many swimmers attend this meet as possible. We would love to see you all there. RSVPs are open now and close at a date TBA.
MEET THEMES: Here are our meet themes for the rest of the season:
FD: Country and Disco
KST: Slumber Party
GP: Mermaids and Pirates
SMI: TBD by the SMI board of directors
CCC: Tie Dye
Dog Days: Jungle Safari
City: Dynamic Duos
CULTURE: Our team has been know for the last few years as a great team to swim with and swim against. Not every team we swim against will be as sportsmanlike as we expect our team to be. If you are at a meet and having an issue with another team's swimmers please come talk to the coaches instead of trying to argue with them. We also expect all of our swimmers, regardless of age or situation, to be good sports. We want to be kind to those around us whether we beat them or they beat us. I have never in my life had an issue with this and do not think anyone on this team will have an issue with this. We were very happy with how our team handled themselves during the last meet and we appreciate the challenges and difficulties that running and swimming in a meet can cause. Thank you all for what you do and thank you for being a fair and kind team to work with. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to reach out to Coach Robbie.
TUESDAY PRACTICE: All practices will be cancelled Tuesday, June 23 due to our meet with Fox Den being on Mondays.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Thank you all and see you Monday!
