Good morning,

This is the first of two different emails you will receive today. This one is focused on SMI. The next will be about Cherokee.

WARMUPS

We have warmups at a different time both days.

Saturday, 11 and olders: 7:20 warmups. Please arrive by 7:00 to set up.

Sunday, 10 and unders: 7:35 warmups. Please arrive by 7:15 to set up.

The meet will begin at 8:40am each day.

TENT

The team tent locations are not announced until Wednesday afternoon. We will send out that information as soon as we get it. Personal canopies are allowed at SMI.

The coaches tent map is located here. Please share with your swimmers. All swimmers will be expected to stop by and talk to the coached before they go to clerk of course and after they get done with a race. Also, we will have candy.

ENTRIES

Attached is a list of entries for both days as well as the psych sheet for both days. Unlike City Meet, SMI does not have a finals day. SMI does, however, have awards for individual top finishers each day. Please check over your swimmers' entries. All entries are final; we do not have swimmers to replace relays. If you cannot make SMI and signed up, your swimmers' teammates will not be able to swim their relay(s). Please plan to come. 

CLERK OF COURSE

As normal, all 10 and unders will be required to have their full name, team name, and age on their back right shoulder. Having their events, heats, and lanes somewhere visible to them is highly encouraged. Clerk of course can be a bit crazy at SMI and it is encouraged that swimmers know what they should be doing before they get to the tent.

THEME

Every year SMI does a theme contest. This years theme is endless summer. Please dress in your best luau/Hawaiian costume!

SPECTATOR SWIM

Spectator swim will be open both days. Please make sure your swimmers do not miss their events. Spectator swim is a great way to stay cool during the meet and also a great way for everyone to have fun. It is open to anyone who buys a pass; however, swimmers must be vigilant, and it is encouraged that swimmers only do spectator swim after their events are completed.

SENIOR SLIDE

On Saturday, there will be the senior slide. Please help us in celebrating our senior when he is announced!

COACHES RELAY

Following the conclusion of Sunday's events, your coaches will be participating in a coaches' relay against the other teams' coaches. We would love for everyone to stay and cheer us on!

JR COACHES

A new thing SMI announced this year is a JR Coaches' relay as well! We would love to invite our JR Coaches to come on Sunday to both assist our 10 and under swimmers during the meet and then to swim a relay after. If you are interested please come talk to a coach at practice by THURSDAY. The event will be a modified medley relay: 

Backstroke- In a Hoodie

Breaststroke- Wearing Modest Pajamas 

Fly- In a Skirt or Dress 

Free- In a Costume of Choice, the sillier the better
