Orange and White Meet
Good afternoon!
It is hard to believe that Orange and White is already upon us this year! We are so excited to have the opportunity to run our intrasquad meet for everyone to learn or remember how meets go! I have some quick reminders and updates for everyone before this afternoon.
MEETS
For those of you who are new to our team, I send out meet information the day of the meet with any reminders and changes to the meet. Normally meets entries are due the SUNDAY before the meet, but as this was our intrasquad, we accepted entries much later. It is imperative that you RSVP a YES or NO to each of our meets. This helps the coaches know and plan out our entries.
SEATING
In years past seating has been a little all over the place. This year we are asking all swimmers to be sitting on deck. This helps the coaches and parent volunteers find the swimmers for their races and lessens the chance a swimmer will miss their event. We will ask that chairs and canopies not be set up too close to the pool as the swimmers, volunteers, coaches, and officials need to be able to walk around the pool deck.
CONCESSIONS
As mentioned previously, USC will NOT be having concessions at our meets this year. It is extremely important for you to bring water, food, snacks, and anything else you might need during the meet. Tonight's meet is short, but when we get to the dual and championship meets, they take a long time. You will want somewhere to sit and it is always a good idea to find some shade or bring some of your own. Water is necessary. Even though the swimmers will be in the water, they still will quickly dehydrate. They need your support in staying healthy, safe, and hydrated during swim meets.
ATHLETE CHECK-IN
Athlete check-in will be on the upper deck (where we wait around before practice starts). Please make sure you check-in you athlete and volunteers check in yourselves.
TEAMS
We are all one big team. Cheering for your teammates behind the blocks is both encouraged and expected. Even though tonight we will be split between team Orange and team White, we will still be cheering for everyone to do their best. Without further ado:

Weirdness: It is normally expected that all swimmers who can, stay for the full duration of the meet to cheer on their team and celebrate after the meet if we win. Tonight however we have an event after our relay marked as "Breast/Fly" this is because the coaches are needing some updated times for certain swimmers. The swimmers will be told what stroke they are swimming before that event but it will most likely be their favorite of the two. If you would like to stay and cheer people on that would be great but if you need to leave after the relays we understand.
Please reach out if you have any questions and we can not wait to see everyone dressed in their team colors!!

P.S. Go Team White!
