Good afternoon swim families, 

Thank you to everyone for their flexibility this morning with the storm that came through in the middle of practice. We are also thankful to be in a place that we are able to continue practicing even during bad weather!

Junk Fest

Tonight we are hosting the annual junkfest meet. Swimmers at this meet do not race for times but instead race for fun and for prizes. We will start with the freestyle and cap the meet off with a parents relay followed by the coaches' relay. The winner of this meet is decided by the coaches' relay so we encourage everyone to stay until the end and cheer on your coaches!

Warmups

We will be warming up inside Allen Jones at 5:30. Please plan to arrive around 5 to pick a seat in the upper deck area. The same as city meet.

Events

This is a non-traditional meet. If your swimmer is put in events they do not want to swim, that is ok. They do not have to swim them. If your swimmer wants to swim extra events or swim as a different age group, that is ok too find an empty lane and go when the starter says go. This meet is all about having fun and seeing all your friends.

Clerk of Course

Clerk of course will be run for all 10 and under swimmers. We encourage parents to write names on backs, Events, heats, and lanes on arms so your swimmer knows where you are going. All 11 and older events will be self seated behind the blocks before your race. I have attached both the heat sheet and athlete check-in sheet.

Seniors

In the middle of the meet we will be honoring our senior swimmers and allowing them to jump off a platform in the diving well.

Junior Coaches

Junior Coaches will be needed for extra help this meet. We have lots of new swimmers who will need lots of attention. Please plan to stay on deck and assist with any/all 6 and under swimmers at this meet.

Parent Relay

Some Parents have already reached out about swimming in relays! That is wonderful and we are very excited! If you would like to swim in a relay make sure to bring a swim suit and let Coach Robbie know by the end of warmups (6:00) so that relays can be made and organized. We will call all parents to "clerk of course" so that we can organize everyone into relays! We encourage everyone to jump in and have some fun! Don't forget your suit!
