Good Afternoon,

Hello everyone I hope we are all having a great day! We are very excited to be travelling to Cherokee Country Club this afternoon for our second dual meet of the year! I have a few announcements and information to share before tonight.

Theme: PIRATES!!

We are so excited to see your best pirate costumes! Don't forget to add your scull and crossbones to your name on your back! 

Parking

Parking will be at the Cherokee Country Club pool, please park in their lot. Overflow parking will be at the tennis courts and gold course. If you have to park near the club house as a last resort, there is a tunnel that will take you under the road towards the pool. 5205 Lyons View Pike. We will be on the opposite side of the street from the main clubhouse.

Warmups

Warmups for this meet will be at 5:15 for 10 and unders and 5:30 for 11 and olders. Please plan to arrive around 4:45-5:00 to find parking, set up your area, and get ready for the meet. We need everyone's support in making sure that their child is at warmups (stretches first) and is ready to swim at a different pool. The coaches and Jr. Coaches will help as much as possible, however, there are more kids than coaches and we need your help making sure they make it.

Clerk of Course

We will be doing the same thing for clerk of course as the previous meets. We still are asking for all swimmers to have their events, heats, and lanes somewhere visible to them and for all 10 and unders to have their name and age (age as of June 1st) on their back. Please make sure your swimmers are at clerk of course well in advance of their races. This meet has lots of swimmers and a new pool deck layout. The coaches will point out to everyone where clerk of course is, however, we will be behind the blocks. This will be a very close meet, please do not miss your event!

Events and Relays

Please make a note of your swimmers being in relays. If you are on a relay it is very, very important that they be at clerk of course with their relay team! We do not have a ton of substitute swimmers to replace them. If one swimmer leaves it means three others cannot swim their event. If for any reason you have to leave, find Coach Robbie and make sure he is aware before you leave. The events your swimmers are in are for one of two reasons, either the coaches need them to score points or to get times for better accuracy when building future meets. If they are in an event we ask that they please try to swim the event. If your swimmer is upset or has questions about their placement, please ask a coach of have them talk to us.

Attachments

I have attached both the heat sheet and athlete check in. The athlete check in will be posted on the tent our team is sitting under for you to write down your swimmers races on them. I highly encourage you to print a heat sheet so you're able to keep up with the events and races! 

Concessions

Cherokee will be selling concessions in the form of a dinner buffet. It will be $15 for adults and $10 for children CASH ONLY. Please make sure your swimmer has access to lots and lots of water. It is very hot and they will be exercising very hard.

Wednesday Practice

Wednesday morning practice will be Tie Dye!! We will not be getting in the water so do not bring a swim suit. Families will be responsible for bringing a white shirt (and other items you wish to tie dye). The team will be providing the rubber bands and dye itself. We'd love to see as many of you as possible!!
