USC News and Notes: Team Pictures and Meet Updates
Happy Monday! We will continue to have a lot to communicate in these last two weeks of summer swim!
Team PicturesWe will take team pictures on Friday, 7/14, at 4:30PM before the Lenoir City Meet outside of Allan Jones. Sign up to get individual pictures. For individual pictures, the cost is $35 for the photo shoot (you will sign up for a time slot) and one digital image file. All payments are paid through the Sign-Up so it is easy! Please have your team suit, cap and shirts! If you haven't picked up your shirts or caps, they will be available at the Emerald Meet on 7/11, before pictures on 7/14, or they can be brought to practices if you reply to this email!
Dual Meet @ Emerald on 7/11
Tomorrow we look forward to some fast swims vs Emerald. We have received some updated meet information.
The meet will be held at the Ed Cothren Pool, which is located at 1737 Reynolds Street, Knoxville, TN 37921.
Warm ups
Please plan on checking in at 5:30PM. We will warm up from 5:50-6:10PM and the meet will start at 6:15PM. Please note this pool does not have lights and will have a hard stop at 9:00PM.
Parking and Spectator Seating
There is ample parking at the facility. The parking lot is next to the baseball field, right past the Mobile Meals Community Kitchen building. USC's spectating area will be directly across from the entrance of the pool complex under the pavilion with tables underneath- please bring your own chairs.
Concessions
Emerald will be selling hot dogs, pizza, candy bars, soft drinks, and fruit at concessions and they accept payment by either cash or card.
Dual Meet vs Lenoir City (meet on 7/14) Sign Ups
Lenoir City Sign ups for swimmers and jobs are open now and will close at noon on Wednesday, 7/12.
Junk Meet RSVPSThank you for starting to rsvp for the junk meet. Having total numbers helps us plan for concessions! If you, as a parent, would like to swim in the parent relays, please leave a comment on the RSVP. Parents, please note if you want to swim and if you would like to swim a 25 or a 50 (you can swim with a kickboard)! Be on the lookout in the coming days for concessions flyers and jobs for Junk Meet!
GKAISA City MeetEntries for City Meet are closed.
Preliminaries for swimmers 10-Under will be held on Thursday, July 20. Warm-ups will begin at 1:00 pm, with a meet start time of 3:00 pm. Preliminaries for swimmers 11-Up will be held on Friday, July 21. Warm-ups will begin at 7:00 am, with a meet start time of 9:00 am. Finals will be held on Saturday, July 22 for the top 16 in each event. Warm-ups will begin at 7:00 am, with a start time of 9:00 am.
Gently used swim equipment (caps, goggles, kickboards, etc.) and swimsuits in all sizes will again be collected at City Meet for Emerald Youth’s Just Lead Learn-to-Swim and Community Swim Programs. A collection bin will be placed in front of the booth where heat sheets are sold.
