Swim Meet Tips and Reminders from your Clerk of Course
It’s finally here- our first swim meet!!
Some helpful tips and reminders from your Clerk of Course:
-Check out the article on our website re: swim meet tips.
https://universityswimclub.swimtopia.com/swim-meet-tips
-Generally review heat sheets with race information (to arrive via separate email from coaches) and discuss events. Keep it positive and fun! Coaches and volunteers are there to help on deck.
-Label your child with sharpie with their last name and age on their back and event, heat, lane on inside of arm or leg. See photos attached below.
-Bring a sharpie for any reapplication of information or if so inclined, to decorate/write on back with inspirational phrases.
-Stress personal best- Winning in swimming is striving for your personal best. For some, it may be attending their first meet. For others, cutting their time in an event from last year. It is a completely personal endeavor and I think gives our kids the best and most positive outlook during the meet.
-If possible, pack an extra pair of googles with your swim cap, just in case they should get lost or fall off during races.
-Follow race progress and results during the meet using Swimtopia application. It is approximately $10.00.
Look forward to seeing everyone tonight!
