USC Coaching Update... And Congrats to Coach Jordan Crooks, SEC Male Swimmer of the Year!

    USC Swim Families,

We hope that you have had a great school year and are excited for summer! I can’t believe that we will be back in the pool in less 7 weeks. We are ready to bring back the fun and family that is the lifeblood of University Club.

We are excited to announce this year’s coaching staff. We have some new faces joining us, some familiar faces taking on different roles, and one very famous face.

Robbie Chadwell is coming to us from Benington-Farrington, where he previously served as Head Coach. He previously swam for Coach Allie when she was Head Coach at Benington. Robbie brings a wealth of experience to the pool, especially with young swimmers. He is the Lead Instructor at Safe Splash and has a reputation of being one of the top swim instructors in the area. We are thrilled to have him join us this year as an Assistant Coach.

Dylan Smith is also joining our team as an Assistant Coach and will focus on our dryland training. Dylan is a rising junior at the University of Tennessee and has spent the last year as an intern at Allan Jones Aquatic Center. He also works with the University of Tennessee Olympic Strength and Conditioning program, learning different techniques and forms to utilize in sport for optimal performance. Dylan will be an integral part of USC this summer, teaching our team how to properly prepare for practice and for recovery after.

Erica Williamson, who was one of our most outstanding senior swimmers last year, is joining us as an Assistant Coach this summer. Erica just completed her freshman year at Southern Indiana University, where she was a key member of the Swim Team. We are excited to have her on deck as an Assistant Coach and to have her provide new insights gained from her collegiate experience.

Ally Davis joins us on deck as both a senior swimmer and Assistant Coach. She has been an asset to our Junior Coach program for many years, providing knowledge from her time as a YMCA swim instructor. She will be a freshman at Johnson University this Fall, where she will major in elementary education. Ally has always had a heart for children, and we are excited that she will be on deck this year.

Jordan Crooks, one of the top collegiate swimmers in the US and one of the top swimmers in the world, joins us as an Assistant Coach. Jordan is a rising junior at the University of Tennessee. He is the reigning World and NCAA champion in the 50 free and is a 12-time All American. Today, he was named SEC Male Swimmer of the Year, recipient of the Commissioner's Trophy, and First-Team All-SEC. Jordan enjoys teaching and wants to see young swimmers pay attention to details, which is important when learning to swim and improve swimming. He has previously worked with young swimmers, as well as with swimmers looking to improve their strokes.

We are excited to welcome all of these new coaches to our pool deck this year.

The hallmark of a great program is one that produces coaches that are sought by other teams. We want to congratulate Coach AJ, who will be the head coach at Peninsula Club, Coach Hayden, who will be the head coach at the AJCC, and Coach Joe, who is joining the staff at KRC.

We are also proud of our Junior Coach program. Two of our assistants were formerly our junior coaches, and we are excited to continue to develop talented coaches. Swimmers 13-Up, please be on the lookout for the interest form and for training opportunities in May.

We look forward to seeing all of you soon!

    Coach Marshall and Coach Allie

PS.... Keep those registrations rolling in... we will be ordering personalized caps by May 1 and t-shirts by May 15. We want to be sure that everyone who wants a personalized cap gets one, and we want to be sure that all of our swimmers are named on the team shirt.
