USC News and Notes: JunkFest Champions!

    Swim Families,

Congratulations on a GREAT JunkFest Meet! Our swimmers were amazing and took home lots of prizes (and consumed lots of snow cones and candy), our parent relays were phenomenal (thank you, parents!), and our awesome coaching staff brought home the JunkFest trophy tonight. It was great to bring back this tradition, and we look forward to doing it again next year!

    GKAISA CHAMPIONSHIP MEET

The GKAISA Championship Meet will begin this Thursday at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center. Preliminaries for our 10-Under swimmers will begin at 3:00 pm on Thursday. Preliminaries for our 11-Up swimmers will begin at 9:00 am on Friday. Finals for the top 16 in each event will be held on Saturday, starting at 9:00 am.

Be on the lookout for warm-up lanes and times tomorrow.

Additional information about the meet can be found under the City Meet tab on the GKAISA website: www.gkaisa.swimtopia.com

    CITY MEET PARKING PASSES

If you purchased a parking pass for City Meet, Coach Allie will have those on deck tomorrow.

If you did not purchase a pass, free parking is available at the Metron Center lot across Kingston Pike (approximately 1 mile). No shuttle service will be provided.

    CITY MEET WORKER POSITIONS

We will post our required worker positions on the website tomorrow. Be sure to sign up for at least one shift if you have a swimmer in the meet.

    TENT MAP

A map of the tent placement at City Meet was sent out yesterday. Please note that our tent will be on the street between Allan Jones and SAC (approximately the same location as last year.)

Parents, be sure to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and things to keep everyone entertained during these long, hot days. Also, be sure to pack plenty of water and snacks for your swimmers.

    CITY MEET T-SHIRTS

Pre-ordered City Meet t-shirts will be available for pick-up in the tent on Thursday  and Friday.

    ... AND FINALLY....

GKAISA asked all teams to help get Heat Sheet ads to help defray the costs of City Meet. It was announced that the team that secured the most ads would get a surprise. A little birdie told us to be on the lookout for a sweet treat at practice on Wednesday.

    Happy Swimming!
