Swim Families,

Congratulations on a great win over the Lenoir City Bettas on Friday night. We had a lot of great swims, and we won with a score of 326-320. Ribbons will be available in the family boxes on deck this week. 

NEXT MEET

Our next meet will be this Thursday, June 30 versus the West Side Y. Please make plans to attend, as we will need all available swimmers. This will be another tough meet against a really good team.

Meet details are as follows:

The WSY is located at: 400 Winston Rd, Knoxville, TN 37909.

It is a 10 lane (8 competition lanes) pool. The pool bottom slants upward across the lanes (ie: lane 1 is deeper at the start and finish ends than lane 8), so each lane has a varying depth. Lane 1 is the deepest, and lane 8 the most shallow. All 8 competition lanes have blocks and have the required minimum 4' depth. There are permanent ladders in lane 1, but it is slightly wider.

Concessions:

Their team will be selling concessions. They will have items such as pizza, candy bars, snacks, and drinks. They accept payment by cash only.

Spectator Seating:

WSY has limited spectator seating inside the fence. While the facility does provide some chairs, there are not enough for everyone. All seating is bring your own (chair, blanket, ect.). They have a great hill on the South side of the pool that will allow for any number of parents to sit and observe the meet from outside the fence.

Parking:

WSY has reasonably sufficient parking at their facility. The parking lot "down the hill" from the pool is the closest parking. There is also overflow parking in the Church parking lot across the street from the entrance (off Winston Rd).

Meet Details: Our meet is set to begin at 6:00 pm. WSY athletes will warm up 5:00 - 5:30 pm and USC will have the pool from 5:30 - 6:00 pm for warm-ups.  

They will run a Clerk of Course with a few rows of chairs set up to the left (standing behind the starting blocks) of the starting blocks in the grassy area. They will use a lane timer sheet, not individual entry cards.

TEAM T-SHIRTS

Team t-shirts will continue to be available for pick-up at most practices. They are labeled by family name and size based on your order at registration. Please verify that your size on the tape corresponds with the size on the shirt. If you need to switch out shirts, we have a few extra available for that purpose. Also, parents, if you did not order a shirt but wish to purchase one, they are for sale for $15. Please use the Merchandise tab on the website to pay by card. You can also pay by cash or check (payable to USC).

TEAM CAPS

Team caps are also available for purchase. Cost is $12 each.

RIBBONS FROM LAST MEET

Our ribbons from the last meet will be available in the family boxes in the lobby of the SAC at most practices. Please make sure your swimmers pick up their ribbons.

2021 T-SHIRTS

We have a box of old t-shirts left from last year. We are selling them for $1 each. If you would like one, please be sure to purchase this week.

The Smoky Mountain Invitational and the GKAISA City Championship are just around the corner. Be on the lookout for information on those... and for information on an exciting additional meet for our swimmers.
