Who says you can’t go home again?

University Swim Club—under the leadership of Coach Joe Peeden-- is ready to hit the water for Summer 2021 and will be returning to the outdoor pool at the University of Tennessee. The outdoor pool at the SAC has the reputation as one of the premier outdoor competition pools in the US. We are fortunate to be able to practice at such an awesome facility.

We will be competing in GKAISA League 4, which includes Cherokee Country Club, the Lenoir City Bettas, Maryville-Alcoa Flying Dolphins, West Side YMCA and Rockwood Tigers Swim Team.

Meet Our Coach

Coach Joe is back for his 10^th season as our Head Coach. He brings a wealth of experience in coaching, as he also coaches the West High School Swim and Dive Team. In the past, he has served as head coach for the Swim and Dive Teams at Webb School and Bearden Middle. He also serves as Head Coach for the UT Triathlon team. Joe is also a University Swim Club alum, swimming for our team from the age of 4 until 18.

In his spare time, Joe teaches 6^th grade science at South Doyle Middle School and is pursuing an EdS in Instructional Leadership at LMU. Joe is married to our former assistant coach, Alex, and they are parents to JR (age 2) and are expecting another Baby Peeden (Stetson) in June.

Practice Schedule

We are tentatively set to begin practice on Monday, May 24 at the UT outdoor pool. We anticipate our schedule to be as follows:

Morning Practices(Monday through Friday)

8:30 – 9:30 am (Ages 11-Up)

9:30 – 10:30 am (Ages 10-Under)

Evening Practices (Tuesday and Thursday)

6:00 – 7:00 (Ages 10-Under)

7:00 – 8:00 (Ages 11-Up)

We will not practice on mornings following meet days.

NOTE: This schedule is subject to change based on University guideline and CDC recommendations. Also, we will not hold dryland practices in order to comply with COVID restrictions at UT.

Meet Schedule

We will have our tentative Meet Schedule posted in late March. The GKAISA City Championship Meet is tentatively set for July 29-31 at Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.

Registration

Registration will be opening soon. We will send an updated email with information on registration fees, team t-shirts, suits and other important information.
