Swim Families,

It is hard to believe that summer swim season starts in only SEVEN weeks! We are excited for the USC Smokin’ Salmon to SMOKE our competition this summer!

REGISTRATION

Registration will be handled exclusively through our new website. Simply go to our site and click on the “Register Now” link on the right-hand side of the page. Also, be sure to enter your swimmers’ t-shirt sizes for the team shirt on the Merchandise page, including how the swimmer name should appear on the back of the shirt. We plan to order on the day of the first practice so that we can have them by the first meet.

USC Smokin' Salmon website

Registration fee is $250 per swimmer. This includes all practices, meet registration fees and the team t-shirt, as well as some other fun team activities and expenses. All payments should be made by credit card through our secure site.

If you know of another family that would be a great addition to our team, please forward this email on to them. We always have room for new swimmers and would love to have additional families join our team.

PRACTICE

Practice begins on Tuesday, May 29. All practices will be held at the AJCC pool.

Our schedule will be as follows:

Morning Practices (Monday through Friday)

8:00 - 9:00 a.m. (Ages 10-Under at AJCC Pool)

9:00 - 10:30 a.m. (Ages 11-Up at AJCC Pool)

Afternoon Practices (Monday through Thursday)

3:30 – 4:30 p.m. (For swimmers attending MCDC only)

Evening Practices (Monday through Thursday)

6:00 - 7:00 p.m. (Ages 10-Under at AJCC Pool)

7:00 - 8:00 p.m. (Ages 11-Up at AJCC Pool)

Meet Schedule

We will have our Meet Scheduling Meeting for GKAISA on April 5. We will announce the schedule meet schedule next weekend. Smoky Mountain Invitational will be held on July 14-15, and the City Meet will be held July 27-29.

Mandatory Parent Meeting

There will be a parent meeting on Wednesday, May 30 at 6:30 pm at the AJCC Pool. The meeting will include GKAISA Concussion Training, Cardiac Arrest Training and other information that is mandated by GSAISA. We will also review the USC Hazing Policy. We will also cover introductions, general questions, social events, meet schedule, team communication and volunteer opportunities.

Team Suits

Our team suit will be the TYR Phoenix Splice, which is the same suit that we used last year. Team suits are available for purchase at Swim and Tri in Bearden.

Team Towels

Swim and Tri also will have our team towels, which are microfiber and quick-dry. The design is the same as last year. They can be purchased on our website under the “Merchandise” tab at registration. NOTE: We must have a total of 24 ordered in order for them to be printed. If you order a towel and we do not have sufficient numbers ordered, we will refund your money.

Caps

We will be ordering silicone caps through Swim and Tri (same design as last year). Please note that we use silicone caps because Coach Joe is very allergic to latex. Cost for a single cap will be $15.00. We also have the option to order caps that are personalized with the swimmer’s last name. Minimum order per family is two (2), and the cost for two (2) caps is $30.00. (Both caps must have the same personalization). Personalized caps must be ordered by May 1.

Other Merchandise

We may have added the option for parents to purchase team t-shirts for $15.00 each. Please make those purchases under the “Merchandise” tab at Registration.
